Amy Shapiro, M.S. , Chief Executive Officer, Director

Amy Shapiro brings more than 20 years as an expert in clinical Geropsychology to Salus Behavioral Health. Ms. Shapiro began her career when she saw a need in the skilled nursing home industry following the passing of the Nursing Home Reform Act of 1987, which mandated Medicare-provided mental health services for the elderly.  Prior to founding Salus Behavioral Health, Ms. Shapiro was a co-owner Psych Options Affiliates, a provider of behavioral and mental health services to long term care facilities within the State of Florida.   Ms. Shapiro holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Barry University.  She is an active member of various healthcare associations  in the areas that Salus services.

Steven Shapiro , President, Director

Steve Shapiro has more than 35 years of experience in health care business development, marketing and administration.  Prior to joining SBH, Shapiro was involved in the development and operation of medical diagnostic facilities, including Hialeah MRI, Inc. and Open MRI Florida.  Since assuming his position at Salus five years ago, he has been instrumental in contracting with numerous nursing homes and long term care facilities throughout the Southeast.   Shapiro holds a B.A. degree from Temple University.

 

Tim Riney, Psy. D., Vice President of Clinical Services

Dr. Tim Riney, is responsible for the direct clinical operations of Salus Behavioral Health, including clinical and programmatic oversight and supervision, staff competency, responsiveness to the population served, and program development and implementation. Dr. Riney is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned his Doctor of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2003 from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia.  Dr. Riney specialized in psychological and neuropsychological assessment and completed pre-doctoral practicums in neuropsychology at Emory University Rehabilitation Hospital and at Northside Hospital with a concentration in health psychology/consultation-liaison.

 

Nicole Reed, Program Administrator

Nicole Reed has worked in the healthcare field since 1992, working as Director of Human Resources and Practice Administrator in a variety of specialties including Neurology, Urology, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Ophthalmology and Colorectal Surgery. Her most recent position was as a Director of Human Resources in a multi-physician, multi-location specialty medical practice in the greater Atlanta area.  Ms. Reed has been a guest speaker at colleges and universities educating students on the benefits and importance of degrees in the healthcare industry and the growing demand for quality healthcare workers.  She has also served as Physician Liaison on the Board of several nationally recognized health insurance companies. She holds a B.A. in Biology.
